How to get Run ID of an OO flow either in flow variable or IAction

I have a custom IAction that I am implementing in Java, which sends some data off to an external system. Since the processing by the external system could take an unknown period of time (minutes, hours, perhaps days), my flow does a hand-off immediately after this IAction. However, I need to be able to pass the Run ID of the flow to the external system as an input parameter to my IAction, so that the external system can resume the flow from the hand-off transition when it's done processing.

So my question is, can I dynamically determine the Run ID during the execution of a flow, either from a special variable in OO, or via some API method in the Java IAction? Or perhaps some other way?

Thanks
Paul

To answer my own question, there is a variable in the flow context called "run_id" that contains the current Run ID.
