How to invoke a batch file when the RAS service itself is down from OO
How to invoke a batch file when the RAS service itself is down from OO.
Recently we faced one issue, whenever RAS service is down unable to execute the OO flow successfully as known.
But is there any facility/way around to make the RAS service up by invoking some simple batch file developed with restart commands, whenever we found the scenario like RAS service is down in OO.
before to execute some main workflow: how to check if RAS is running?
If there is possible to check RAS status, then prior to main flow we can simply run self-remediation subflow for the RAS, and only after RAS is up - to execute the main workflow.
If anybody knows if that is possible? (both Central and RAS are on Windows)
Checking if a RAS is down is pretty simple. You can simply set the overrideJRAS and overrideNRAS variables to the RAS you want to test and then run any OO action that uses them; the simplest being /lib/util/JRAS command
As for remediating a stopped service do you have HP Server Automation deployed in your environment? If so you can run an adhoc defined batch script against the RAS host that simply runs start rsjras
Not natively with an OO Action since it needs the RSJRAS service to be running to do any commands. I'm not sure if the port is still open and connectable if the service is down, if not you may be able to find a way to run it that way.
