Make a OLE DB connection to a PDW

Jump to solution

Hi!

I'm trying to make a connection by OLE DB to a Microsoft's PDW to execute a JOB, but I can't make it with the operations provided in the DATABASES content package or the BASE content package. Can anybody tell me how to connect? It seems like I need something called Data Tools but this can't be called from a command line.

Thanks!

Seems like the PDW, aka APS, has some client tools that you can use to connect to the database using the command line. With those, you execute a command called "sqlcmd" like this sqlcmd -S<IP route>,<port> -U<user> -I -P<password> to execute queries and things like that.

Hope this answer can be useful to somebody else.
