(OO) Support tip: How to fix “java.security.InvalidKeyException: Illegal key size”

Java exception is seen in HPE Operations Orchestration (OO) central-wrapper.log,
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2016/11/15 14:57:27 | Caused by: java.security.InvalidKeyException: Illegal key size

The error occurs if JCE Unlimited Strength is not installed according to, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6363801/invalidkeyexception-illegal-key-size-java-code-throwing-exception-for-encryp.

To fix the problem,

  1. Download UnlimitedJCEPolicyJDK7.zip from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jce-7-download-432124.html
  2. Backup c:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Operations Orchestration\java\lib\security\local_policy.jar and c:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Operations Orchestration\java\lib\security\US_export_policy.jar.
  3. Replace local_policy.jar and US_export_policy.jar with the files in UnlimitedJCEPolicyJDK7.zip.
  4. Repeat #2 and #3 in c:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\jre\lib\security\.
