[OO Tip] Best practices during CSA upgrade

What are the best practices when preparing to upgrade CSA?

Things to be considered/reviewed before upgrade:

  1. Verify planned upgrade path is supported
  2. Verify configured resource providers are still supported in newer CSA release
  3. Verify no subscriptions are in pending/in-progress state
  4. Stop CSA service and make sure no Java/JBoss process is running on CSA system
  5. Close all other applications and any remote sessions to CSA before upgrade (this could lock folders/files which are under CSA HOME)
  6. Make sure none of the CSA files opened/used by other processes or applications
  7. Back-up of all the customizations made for CSA
  8. Back-up CSA product database before upgrade
  9. Back-up CSA Home directory before upgrade
