OO database transaction type (OLAP or OLTP)?

We need to find out what database transaction type OO is using (OLAP or OLTP) for documentation purposes.  We are using OO 10.5 and SQL 2012.  Hope that someone can help.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: OO database transaction type (OLAP or OLTP)?

Hello,

HPE OO definitely falls into the OLTP category.

Best,

Harar

Hi again,

Can you describe what exactly are you looking for?

I have attached OO's Concepts Guide, maybe it will help...

Re: OO database transaction type (OLAP or OLTP)?

OLAP type of databases is meant for massive reads and unfrequent writes.

OO database is frequently written with and randomly read, so it falls under the OLTP type.

Re: OO database transaction type (OLAP or OLTP)?

hi Harar:

you mentioned that OO database transaction type should be OLTP.  my follow-up question is if there is any documentation or arcticle that can confirm that (we need it for our documentation purposes).

thank you very much for your time and help.

hi Julian:

we would think so too.  do you know if there is any OO documentation that gives that info?  thank you for your post.
