We've talked about doing it, and I subscribe to a couple of sites
(including that one), but we've only been out once and had no luck
finding the cache we were looking for here in the neighborhood.

Of course, it's much harder for us because Amy isn't supposed to spend a
lot of time in sunshine. 😞

I'll tell her you said that. She'll laugh. 🙂

Oh, we've tried it that way. I don't know if it's just that my GPS is
really intended for driving and thus isn't as accurate as it needs to
be. We did get to the park OK, and even the right part of the park from
what we could tell, but we didn't find anything.

Yep! I've found about a dozen so far. Hit up Moab earlier and found 3-4
there, the rest in Colorado. It is pretty fun, and my handheld GPS has
Geocaching capability, so it shows them as little treasure chests on the
map.

That's the one. I don't know of a GPS made for driving directions that is
useful for geocaching.

I've got to get me a better one. Being the frugal person I am, I've got a
little Garmin eTrex. It works, but it doesn't have all the bells and
whistles newer/fancier units have.

Isn't that just one of the coolest places on earth?!?

Somehow I'm not surprised. I very nearly bought another one (well, used
my Novell Rewards points to get one) for geocaching, but didn't because I
wanted the video camera more. 🙂

I've had much look with my GPSMaps 60CSx both geocaching and in the car
after installing City Navigator North America v. 8 to a 2GB microSD
card. My mother got into caching and just got a Garmin Colorado 300 and
the City Naviator North America v. 9 microSD card. The maps have much
better detail there and the description/logs are right on the device so
you can go paperless. I think I might steal it for a week or so and
check out the actual in car GPS functionality. The 60CSx was worked
great in that case. I'll let you know what I find out if you like.

I want to get one of those. It's one of the few that does dual duty, but it
doesn't have voice commands. I've not heard of the Colorado 300.

Yea, I'm interested. Let me know.
