Does Ifolder stink?

Seems like it to me. Stupid server needs to reboot all the time....people
point to Mono as the problem.

Stinks though. 🙂

Re: Does Ifolder stink?

The old one that ran on Netware was nothing but a workhorse in my
experience. Of course, that was native code, not based on Mono. Hmmmm...
🙂

Have you reported any specific iFolder problems to the forums?

Been running 3.7 for a couple of weeks now and have been fairly happy
with it. No probs on the server side, however I am the only one
currently using it.

Re: Does Ifolder stink?

Did you have a mono issue in the past that was solved by 3.7? I'm just
ready to move on, really.

Thanks

Re: Does Ifolder stink?

Nope. My guys were working on it. I think the latest "solution" was to
have a cron job restart the server early in the morning. Are you
saying/implying this might be fixable?

I think he's implying that if you haven't posted about a problem to see
if it's fixable, then posting that a product stinks because of said
problem is a bit premature.

Of course he may not be implying that at all...

Re: Does Ifolder stink?

I've just been usually waiting for the "next version" will fix it kind of
deal, and it never does. I'm just tired of it.

I mean, it's open source now, right?

No, but I am saying that I can pass on any specific complaints you may
have. Would be worthwhile to post in the support forums IMO.

That's kind of a gray area I think. But I think you should post about
the problem. It might be something that can be resolved for you. I'm
not sure having it under Mono is a great idea either.

Re: Does Ifolder stink?

Do you use it internally?

I've got one user I setup to use it, backend is OES2 SP1. I don't think
he's using it though.

Re: Does Ifolder stink?

I hear you. I'm not asking for support, just saying I would prefer that we
never went to it and rather than solve it, I'd rather replace it with
something else.

Just wondering if the consensus is same.

Re: Does Ifolder stink?

Oh, and if you're so inclined, read the ifolder posts under "Subject:
Alternatives to iFolder?".

A bunch of the other "error" posts are auto-replies as well.
