Re: Does anyone else feel like the train is coming to a stop?

If you ride the Metra trains into Chicago, they often come to a stop without
warning...

If a train leaves station A at 5:00 and arrives at station B at
7:30 and the train is traveling on biodiesal how many rows
of fries were consumed at the local McDonalds?

Indeed. Who knows what all those oscellating magnetic fields can do to a
growing brain? Really, it is for the children after all.

Oh yeah. I think it's a very good time to be a state employee in a
recession-proof industry.

Seriously? Here in CA, there is going to be deep cuts in all
departments and in at least one I know 6 IT positions are going to be
eliminated (three are unfilled and three will result in layoffs). At
least I'm safe at a Data Center...

Re: Does anyone else feel like the train is coming to a stop?

My little bro works for the state. He's a data modeler/programmer though.
I tried getting on at the state but usually ran up against folks that
seemed threatened by my presence so never got hired. Worked out for the
best though; I wouldn't be a good state employee (too independent and
mouthy for my own good).
