Fax to email services

Now that Google Voice has allowed me another number (I have one for our home
ever since GrandCentral, and want to use Google Voice for business as well),
I want to get rid of my other service which is similar to Google Voice. But
I need inbound faxing. Since I pay something like $35 a month for my
current service, it would be nice to get rid of it, and just find a
fax>email service. I've found this:

http://www.fax-reviews.com/?KID=51428103249910190

Anyone use any of these? Use something not listed that you really like?

I found a couple of others that are really inexpensive - like
www.PackeTel.com - $3.95, www.unityfax.com $4.95, www.smartfax.com $6.95,
etc.

Currently all my service really does in the faxing arena is accept faxes,
deliver them to email, save them for later retrieval again if necessary, and
that's it. I don't think it even does outbound faxing (if so I don't know
how). So, while outbound faxing would be convenient I guess, it's not the
most important part and if the price is right to only receive faxes I'm game
🙂

Thanks for any recommendations you might have!

Re: Fax to email services

Be wary of smartfax. I mean it works, but when I originally signed up, it was free. Their website even said it was free (as long as you made like 1 fax a month or something). Imagine my surprise, when over a year AFTER I cancelled, they tried to bill my Amex for almost a hundred dollars.

Fortunately Amex is easy to deal with and they refunded the money, then smartfax sent me an email thanking me for updating my credit card and tried to process the billing again.

Finally got it all squared away, but eeesh.

Could you please provide your Amex number and pin so we can assure that
no errant charges have been entered on your account? While in your
wallet, please do the same for the Visa and Mastercard accounts so we
can be sure that there was no cross contanimation of accounts. We are
here to serve you!

Re: Fax to email services

That's probably what I should've said when some kid asked me if I'd ever
terminated a foreign enemy of the U.S. Constitution, with extreme
prejudice, while assigned by the Army to a hostile fire zone...

AUGH!!! (runs screaming from the building)

haha!

I live in NY so whenever the word "government" and "help" are in the same sentence we know that = tax increase

Unless it's:

God help us! It's the Government!

I think that is pretty universal Kevin.
