Hello

Well, I'm still alive in Garden City. I changed jobs about 1 1/2
months ago. I finally gave up on the accounting world. I left on good
terms but it was a shock to them. They decided to replace me with two
positions so that makes me feel good though that probably denotes there
was a problem to begin with.

Anyway, I'm now working for the local power company with the energy
management systems and SCADA systems. I'm replacing a 19 year veteran.
The only other EMS/SCADA guy is around 55 and he's been there about 15
years. He's pretty sharp and I've been learning a lot from him. I'm
really enjoying it. It's a nice change of pace.

Unfortunately, I also have to take care of the corporate Windows 2003
box at our location. Really don't have to mess with it a lot.

It's http://www.sunflower.net if you want to check it out. Beth Cole
will recognize the name but I'll refrain from commenting on the current
state legislature. 🙂

I'll try and drop in more often now that I'm getting up to speed.

Re: Hello

So you're not flooded out then? My aunt was all packed and ready to move
out of Iowa and then her house got flooded. Still waiting to hear from her
kids if they got her out yet or not.

No, our generation is from goal and gas. We do get power from 4
different wind farm sites across the state.
