How to assign user to Windows 2003 Terminal Server license
Good morning. We have 4 licenses on a one of our 2003 Terminal Servers. I
found out that the server is issuing temporary licenses and that some are
expiring.
Microsoft said I need to assign each user or computer a license so they wont
take a temp license. Does anyone know how that is done?

Just curious why you wouldn't ask this in a Microsoft forum, instead of
a Novell forum? : )

Because Novell admins are generally more intelligent? 😄

Re: How to assign user to Windows 2003 Terminal Server license
I've never ventured to a MS forum and have had great support here.

Re: How to assign user to Windows 2003 Terminal Server license
You should have a license server that keeps track of them. If a license
server can't be found I think the temporary licenses are issued.

There are correct answers in the Microsoft Knowledgebase, and in some
of their forums. : )

Re: How to assign user to Windows 2003 Terminal Server license
Jason:
I ask because we'd like to get away from so much support in here. It
was never intended to be a support forum, it's a chat forum for
non-technical things.
When the regular chat messages far outnumbered the few other-vendor
support questions that people came up with, that was okay.
But the support side has almost completely taken over the chat forum,
now, which isn't the intent of the forum.
Thanks for letting me know why you chose here instead of somewhere
else. Maybe we just need to increase the regular chat so it far
outnumbers the support again.
I hope you find an answer to your question. : )

I can appreciate that. I will take the suggestions.
I would like to thank those in this group for providing me with the
occasional brain drain and good laugh 🙂
