If you live near me you can watch the real thing. This area has always
been reputed as being a hotbed of mob activity and corruption comparable
to Chicago. Our current governor pushed for casinos when elected.
Licenses were handed out in a willy-nilly fashion. So after the casinos
were built and in operation they started conducting background checks.
The local mob guy who interestingly enough owns a trash business among
other things holds a casino license. The grand jury found enough
evidence to try him on perjury for claiming he didn't have a mob
affiliation. A priest who defended him is also going to trial for
perjury. Along the way a former mob boss who is incarcerated decided to
sing in exchange for getting out of jail. Now that the riff-raff are
exposed there is no lack of drama.

So far the current president judge had to resign in disgrace and he and
the former president judge made a plea bargain deal and pleaded guilty
in Federal court to accepting a documented $2 million in bribes. Then
one by one various staff and officials that made it all work have been
hauled into Federal court and are pleading guilty. Rumors are that this
is just the tip of the iceberg because the former mob boss gave lots
of details to the prosecutors.
