OES 2015 SP1 LDAP issue

Randomly ldap will crash on our SuSe server
when I try to restart ldap '/opt/novell/eDirectory/sbin/nldap -u' '-l'
I get the message "failed to start / stop / restart ldap"

in the message log this is what it is showing:

Does anyone know where I can find some more in-depth information in log files? This happens very very sporadically.

OS version, patch level, history, etc.? What does "crash" mean
specifically? Is eDirectory actually crashing, or is LDAP availability
going away without impacting eDirectory otherwise?

I would post this either to the OES forum (as this is an Open Enterprise
Server (OES) box, I believe) or else to the eDirectory forum. The former
is on the Novell/MicroFocus side, and the latter is on the NetIQ side,
though I think all of the web interfaces let you see everything eventually.

eDirectory does not log to the /var/log/messages file so try the (by
default) /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/log/ndsd.log file for something, or
else you may want to use ndstrace to show startup messages, but more on
that in the correct forum.

Good luck.

If you want to send me a private message, please let me know in the
forum as I do not use the web interface often.

Yea, it's all there on the web side and I see the OP is using the web
interface. mcclary, just do a CTRL-F on the home page and search for the
product forum. Good luck

Do you have IDM engine installed on this server?
