RIP Giuseppe Zanrè

Joe's Dad passed away today in Lochee, Scotland. He was 95 and died
peacefully in his sleep in his own bed. I guess you can't ask for much more
than that!

Condolences to you guys for your loss - 95 is impressive, though, and I
think you're right, you really can't ask for much more than that.

Please pass on my condolences Danita.
95 was an impressive achievement given the things
he must have seen in his lifetime. Was he a veteran?

As an Italian citizen in Scotland during the war, he was actually given an
all expenses paid vacation in an internment camp in Canada!

It is indeed. Two years ago we all would have expected him to make 100
without too much trouble, but last January he came down with pneumonia.
He's been in fairly good health and spirits since then, but the downturn was
becoming obvious. He still had all of his faculties to the end though, and
that's a blessing.

Condolences to Joe and your family...

I lost my Grandmother in April just a few weeks after her 91st birthday She
still lived alone in her apartment, had family within a few blocks of her
place though...she also was sharp as a tack.... in the end her heart gave
out... Was a sad time, but truly if you were to pick a century to live in
the last one was it....the innovation and leap forwards(good and bad) that
we have done is amazing and I just imagine having seen it through their
eyes....

Danita:

Condolences to Joe, you and your family. From the things you've
mentioned about him over time, he sounds like he was quite a man. How
nice he was able to live a long life, and have such a peaceful end.
