That reminds me that I need to download RC1 and put it on this spare
laptop. 🙂

Just installed it this morning... Everything went smooth as silk except the wireless drivers, but then again that's Broadcoms fault and I expected it... KDE4 still needs a lot of work before I would consider it "done" though. But once again not the OS fault... I thought KDE4 was released entirely too early anyway... It's more of a beta if you ask me.

There's been a lot of discussion on the opensuse-users list about the
kde4 thing. As a GNOME user, I'm not really bothered either way. 🙂

I thought Beta3 did pretty good as well - I've got a "spare" thinkpad
t42p that I'm testing it on. Still a few hours away from having the DVD
downloaded, though.

Well, I haven't tried it yet, but I'll admit that SLES 10 works far
better than I expected it to. So much so that I enjoy it. (Just for
the record I've never really like Red Hat style distros. Always like
debian style better.)

Is it able to watch AVI's? I know they have those
programs out there, like mplayer or something,
but after tinkering with it forever, I still
couldn't get it to play my AVI files. Which drove
me nuts!!

I need my ANIME~!!

Well the irony is that KDE4.1 is quite a bit different that even KDE 4.0 due
to the launch of Qt 4.5. You could say they should have waited, but then
again it would have just slowed the works up. I think the primary reason
they released KDE 4.0 when they did was to tell the package developers to
wake up that KDE 4.X was on its way and that app porting needed to begin
and to try and woo some people into experimenting with plasmoids. 4.1 will
bring a lot to the table that 4.0 didn't, but I agree there is still work
to be done.

And now you're using a distro based on Slackware. 🙂

(Yes, it uses RPM now, but SuSE originally was a slack-based distro)

The problem I have is playing AVI's encoded with
DivX or Xvid as most Animes are encoded with
those codecs. 😞
