It's pretty funny the expense and effort people here go to, to hunt a
critter that's about as common for you as squirrels. And that chase
cars, no less.

Well they're usually not so common along the highways like that. Plus,
it's usually pretty quite difficult to get a license to hunt a bighorn
sheep. *If* you get a license, you're not able to apply again for 5
years.

I know someone who had a similar encounter with a bull moose on the
AlCan Highway. Moose died and the driver spent a year in the hospital.

He was driving a VW Bug during early fall (that's August in Alaska and
Yukon). The Alaska RR has problems with bull moose charging locomotives
and maintenance cars during rutting season too.
