USB port problem

Hi I am Using ASUS 550L model laptops. For somedays I suffered with the USB port of the laptop. The mouse works but the any pendrive does not recognized. I don't get it.

Is this running some form of SUSE Linux? That would be the most relavant
operating system for asking here, and where we might direct you to a
specific SUSE or OpenSUSE forum.
In any event, the operating system type and version is an important
detail for this kind if issue. If it is the Windows that was supplied
with it, then it would be worth contacting ASUS support in your region.
Is it just one laptop or is this happening on X many?
Is this happening with all USB ports? What pen drives have you tried?
Have any of those pen drives worked in other USB3 ports.

This is basic troubleshooting methodology to go through and is always a
good idea to start with that before asking for help to make sure you
supply all the key up front, makes life easier for all of us.

This looks a bit off topic for this forum as we are aiming for more
general case, trying to see how some Micro Focus product(s) might be a
part of solving some challenge. If you are using some version of SUSE,
then this is certainly a starting point, otherwise I'm not sure how
applicable it is here.

Prova:

If you haven't already, you might check the ASUS download files
available for your model of laptop, to see if they have issued a new
USB driver for it that might solve the issue you are having. It's
worth a try.

Hi Prova,

Is your laptop on a corporate network? If so I'd check with the administrators to see if they have removed access to external/removable storage. This is common practice in my country.
