Anyone know a a utility that can grab all the setting for an application
that has already been installed on an XP PC so that it can be transferred to
a newly formatted PC? I know about installrite but it's too late for that.

I do not know of such an application, but I would be interested as well.

By settings do you mean registry? Could you not "simply" export the
relevant section(s)? The problem with doing this after the event is
knowing all the changes.

Aloha Bob was one I heard of

It is not a dead art, just very niche.

Aloha Bob actually worked pretty well but MS bought it, packed it in a
crate and put it in the warehouse.

I have used PCmover http://www.laplink.com/pcmover.

It works pretty well but burped on the main stuff I was trying to move
likely because they were specialty programs (and the reason I was using
it was because no one had the installer etc.)

Re: Utility.

Personality Migration is part of ZENworks...and can be used to do exactly
that...capture the personality, personalized settings and applications on a
computer and store that info or do a live push to a new machine.

Doesn't the personality migration software that comes with zenworks
do that? I think it's available as stand alone software. I just
can't think of the name.
