Web based forums with NNTP that are free (not vBulletin based)

Are there any other web forum apps out there with
some kind of NNTP integration besides vBulletin??

Just curious. If so, I'd love to know which work
and which do not work.

Hey Chris Cox:

The only reason we have good NNTP integration here is that Marcel Cox
rebuilt an old vBulletin gateway.

ISTR that FUDForum provides some level of NNTP integration.

Kudos to Marcel!

But I thought vbulletin still had an NNTP "plugin" (or whatever
they're called).... sigh...

I just hate having to pull up a piggy browser to do messaging
when I've already got an email client up that can do nntp.
(ditto for the rest of things that COULD have been done through
a common app instead of a plethora of disparate clients)

It does, but it's not great which is why Marcel modified it.

Yes, but it is old, outdated third party addon that is no longer
maintained. It also has some major bugs and some serious limitations. I
tried to do my best cutting off the rough edges and improving the
functionality, all without having any official vBulletin documentation and
without having done any PHP programming before.
