Boomer?

My sanity?

Re: What happened to:

I like to keep track of the coldest inhabited place...but when I originally
sought that, Eureka wasn't considered inhabited - so I always look to
Resolute for "cold comfort" - it's sometimes cold here, but then I check
their weather and feel quite toasty.

Re: What happened to:

Synonyms can be any part of speech (e.g. nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs or prepositions), as long as both members of the pair are the same part of speech. More examples of English synonyms are:

* baby and infant (noun)
* student and pupil (noun)
* buy and purchase (verb)
* pretty and attractive (adjective)
* sick and ill (adjective)
* quickly and speedily (adverb)
* on and upon (preposition)
* freedom and liberty (noun)
* dead and deceased (adjective)

Shaun and sheep may qualify.
Felton and smart will not.
Dried creek bed is not a place to sleep.

Re: What happened to:

Do you speak Yup'ik - or one of the variants thereof? Wondered if there
were as many words for "cold" as for "snow."

.......Fay Wray
That delicate satin draped frame
As it clung to her thigh
How I started to cry
For I wanted to be dressed just the same.

Name the origin of that 🙂
