What's WRONG with you!?!

A co-worker of my wife heard that we went and saw STYX in concert again last Friday night. (GREAT concert, once again)
He mentioned this his wife works with a brother of one of the band members. That member invited him and his wife to a STYX concert as well as on the family boat beforehand. He told them he could get them backstage!

His wife doesn't want to accept the offer because it's from someone at work. For cryin' out loud, if I had an opportunity like this I'd take in a New York minute!!
I've been trying for years to get backstage with STYX. We got our picture taken with them in '04, but it was a quick in-and-out-no-autographs session that was somewhat disappointing.

I told my wife that she should tell her co-worker that if his wife won't go then he can take us. <g>

First saw Styx in 1979 (when they were middle aged.. well, I guess
some could be considered still young... or is that Young or DeYoung).

They were SOOOO drunk. It was the worst concert I've EVER seen.
38 Special was the front band... they were excellent by comparison.
Original Styx was a good band (when sober).. I have no idea how
good the new Styx is.

To me Styx is anything 1978 and earlier... the records after that...
eh... nothing special.

They're here this summer (during Bluesfest in July). I've got my
ticket, and marked it in my calendar already.

I probably wouldn't accept it either 🙂

I don't understand that. I don't offer someone anything unless I sincerely intend to give it to them. There's no favoritism going on here - there isn't any worker-supervisor weirdness or anything.

Re: What's WRONG with you!?!

In my experience with the music industry, there are a couple sure fire
ways to get backstage.....

Re: What's WRONG with you!?!

I don't think you want to go there......

Most involve providing substances or services......

Yeah, I don't think so. We all know of those ways. I thought you had something else.

Thanks, anyway.

I was going to make a witty comment but...:-)

Some people feel that it can complicate the 'relationship' - be it in
as much as feeling an obligation to that person, or one of many other
reasons.

Some people don't like recieving, but perfer giving.

An interesting example is the owner of a company; all of the staff put
in a small amount of money to buying a gift for the owners birthday, in
the pay packets the following week there was a 'gift' back which
exceeded what had been donated. The particular owner isn't after glory
which can be proven based upon how he handles donations.
