Woohoo!

Got the last pour done on my driveway yesterday afternoon! So, in a
few short days I'll be able to park in the garage again, after a
month....YAY!!!!

I know, waiting for it to be uncovered, they're leaving it covered for
a few days to make sure no one drives on it.

Stevo:

I'm amazed they could do a driveway pour and cure at this time of the
year up there. Or is it better in fall weather than in summer? : )

Re: Woohoo!

Asphalt driveways don't take too long to harden in cool weather.

Well silly me, I could have sworn he'd mentioned somewhere that it was

Re: Woohoo!

Concrete actually heats up while it's curing. That's why they water it
in the summer after they pour it. Something my father, a civil engineer,
explained to me as we were watching a construction crew pour a
foundation in January in Anchorage, Alaska.

Was told it's actually better in the fall (as long as the weather
cooperates), as you get the first winter 'ground heave' right away.

Re: Woohoo!

Yay! Finally you'll have that headache done and over with. 🙂 I'll be
happy if I can get a dry day here soon so I can rake leaves and put
winterizer stuff on the lawn (our backyard is a swamp).

Yes, I'm relieved it's done, I'm into the countdown of hours left til I
can park on it. Was told after 3 days it would be ok, but I'm giving
it a couple extra days since it hasn't been that warm here.

At first I read that as "wurlitzer stuff" and I pictured a back yard
decorated with pieces from a pipe organ.

I think I've been working too hard. 😉
