vista home premium feature

a friend installed vista (he didn't listen to me) and discovered a
feature. IExplopder hangs up for no reason. Firefox cruises along with
no problem.

Anyone know of a fix, other than fdisk? I did some research and it
appears to be a common problem but I've not found a fix (other than
firefox or fdisk)

He prefers a browser that's admittedly not following the standards?

Interesting perspective...

Most people don't care about standards -- they only care about whether
it works for them or not 🙂

Well, ideally a browser that doesn't follow standards *wouldn't* work for
them. 😉

Except that IE7 specifically is known not to follow standards, to the
point that MS has committed that IE8 *will* because of all the problems
with IE7.

Whether they actually do, of course, remains to be seen. 😉

Can you install XP without using fdisk?

Do you honestly think the average user cares about how standard-compliant
their browser is? They only care if it works or not.

I think the average user cares whether it works or not, sure. Whether it
actually works or not, though, depends on how well it follows the
standards....
