waiting at home for the dishdude

cancelled on us sat...cancelled on us sun, over an hour into the install
window & hes not here yet...

havent had cable/satellite for over 4 yrs now...guess its going to stay that
way if the dishdude doesnt show up today...

I "live out in the boonies" there is no cable provider here, heck there is
barely a phone/internet provider.

He didn't want to tell you that he begged for the wrong equipment so
that you would have to reschedule. They didn't tell you that there is a
reschedule fee did they?

Re: waiting at home for the dishdude

They didnt disclose anything along those lines. They were the ones who
rescheduled on us twice, then didnt have the correct equipment this time
around. If they do try to hit *us* with a reschedule fee we wont accept it.
If they still insist on it, then we will just refuse service completely, no
way they can bill us for no service rendered.

My wife & I havent had cable/satellite for over 4 yrs now, if the dishdudes
are too incompetent to deliver service to us, then I guess we continue to
live without it, no biggie.

Time Warner gives you somwhere around a $40 credit towards your bill if the
tech misses the install window (which is a 4-6 hour window for him to show up
-_-). A tech came at the end of the window for my last apt, and realized he had
to run a new drop to the pole, which he wasn't equipped for. They gave me the
credit for that.

Ah -- OK -- I wonder if I can bill my local electric company for outages
-- in the past 10 months we have had 7 of them (average a bit less than
2 hours each time).

We used DishTV for years. When we moved to Gainesville it runed out they
couldn't get a clear shot at the satellite we needed for HD (honking big
trees in the way). So we had to go with cable. Almost two months now and we
may finally be getting the channels we ordered. Cable company (Cox) is the
biggest piece of $#&*@(!^ I've ever dealt with (closely beating out ATT,
our phone and DSL provider). Good thing I have such strong self control, or
I would have used really strong language with the support people.

Barry:

Actually, most electric companies have to give you credit for lost
service. All you have to do is ask. : )

Oh goodie -- I am actually getting to the point of a letter to the
company. Heck, I can write it as a share holder -- we own over 100
shares of the company.

ComEd will give a credit, but I believe the outage has to be at least 4
hours and it has to affect at least a certain number of customers.
They'll even allow you to file a claim for food spoilage!

I know the one here in Utah only bills for metered usage, so if the power
goes out, the meter doesn't tick = you don't get charged. No need to
even ask.

(With the recent power outage, I was looking over the website).
