Agent connectivity problem

Hello experts,

I have installed PUM Framework manager on Windows server 2008 64bit and
Agents on windows server 2003 64 bit and redhat 5.7 64bit.
First agent of windows 2003 is showing full details in manager but the
redhat agent appears offline in the manager and the details are not
showing other than the ip adress and status offline.

Please guide me.

Regards,
Asim

Do you have, by default, TCP 29120 open for unsolicited connections in
both directions? This is by far the most-common problem. See the docs
for details on ports used overall but this one is, as I recall, the
default one for system-to-system connections.

Good luck.

The ports are open and tested. In the logs it says

}
i have set another agent on windows server 2003 and it connected without
any error.
please can u give any reference guides or examples for windows agent as
all the examples i find are of linux or unix. I just need to check
whether the agent is restricted to perform windows commands.

Asim Khalid

Re: Agent connectivity problem

This is a resolution problem. You can't resolve "PRUMSERV"

Edit your hosts files on all three hosts so that they all know about
each other.

Or edit the first host and change the Host name to IP address or Full
DNS name (which can be resolved by the other hosts).

Re: Agent connectivity problem

I have somehow managed to connect the linux agents but the problem
persists that the activity done on the agent that are accepted or
rejected by the server are not showing on the compliance auditor. The
activity log of the host can be viewed in the hosts view log but the
activity is not shown in the auditor.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regard,
Asim

This appears to be different from the original basic connectivity
problem. You may want to start a new thread so that any who are
considering this one as resolved will see the new one and give it a bit
more attention.

Good luck.
