Failure to add hosts to ALM PC 11

Brand new installation of PC 11 Hosts with Patch 6 connecting to ALM Patch 9.

 

When trying to connect Hosts to ALM, I am getting error messages like attached, and Host installation invalid.

 

I have uninstalled, deleted IUSR_METRO when uninstalling, removed and deleted the folder, rebooted, reinstalled and installed patch 6 on top, but get the same error. This is getting very frustrating!

Had to do a clean install of OS and worked from there. 

Not impressed with the uninstall of ALM products, it seems to leave a lot behind!

I can't really comment on ALM uninstall, the PC uninstall normally does remove all of it's components. I am glad you were able to solve your issue. Let me know if you have any additional questions about this.

We had uninstalled 11.5 on all the servers previously as not being able to use it due to license restriction. It seems 11.0 doesn't like being installed on a machine which had 11.5 on it, maybe some incompatibility with the additional components??

 

My advice, start with a clean machine and will have no problems 🙂

Also guys if you see this error on PC11.5 hosts which had any prior versions of host software installed and uninstalled, it could be due to below 2 reasons:

 

1) Either port 8731 is not listening or is being blocked between ALM Server and this host. Or

2) There are leftover assemblies from previous install in the Windows Assembly cache. To clean this cache, do the following:

 

  a) Open the cmdline as administrator

  b)  go to C:\Windows\Assembly folder

  c) run the cmd: gacutil -u hp.lt.logger.dll

  d) Restart the PC Loadtesting Service on the host machine and try adding it into ALM Hosts page again
