Roll up of planned cost from work plan to financial summary

0 Votes

Our customer needs to plan their labor/non-labor costs in tasks in the work plan and then these planned costs should be roll up to the financial summary and be connected to it. This means that if they move a task in time, the associated planned cost should update, in the corresponding months, the financial summary without the need of doing it manually.

I know that currently this is not possible, Is there an ER opened for this? What is the status of this ER? Many customers ask for this functionality.

Christian

Hi Christian,

Could you clarify your requirements here? By "Planned" Costs from the work plan to Financial Summary, do you mean that planned costs from the work plan should be rolled up into Forecast costs in the Financial Summary? There's no planned costs in Financial Summary, this is something specific to the work plan.

And yes, forecast labor costs in the FS will typically roll up from the Staffing Profile, not the work plan. Don't you use a Staffing profile in your projects? Do you think that work plan planned costs are more accurate than staffing profile to use as forecast labor costs?

Hi,

Yes, I mean planned cost should be rolled up as forecast cost in the FS. Some customers don't use Staffing Profile and non-labor cost also is not present in SP and those planned cost should be rolled up too.

Christian
