Can only add requests to a time sheet if they were created in same period.
We want to be able to limit who can add Requests to their time sheets by Request Type. Our approach is to use security groups and the request's assigned group field. On each request type resources tab, we selected "Use Time Management to track actuals" and "Allow users in the assigned group during the time sheet's time period." We want to create a security group for each request type that lists the users who are allowed to add this request type to their time sheets. Then we will make the assigned group of each request type hidden and set by default constant value to the appropriate security group.
This approach almost works, but currently we can only add Requests to a Time sheet if the request was created during the time sheet's period. We do not understand why. We need to be able to add requests to time sheets even if the request was created earlier than the time sheet's period. (The request is still open during this period.)
