Cygwin for PPM

Does anyone have the instruction to install cygwin on windows boxes so they can work with PPM?

Thanks,

Re: Cygwin for PPM

I would love instructions as well.

I am trying to upgrade to 9.2 and having issues installing Cygwin.  The packages don't install.

Any help?????

Re: Cygwin for PPM

Make sure you start the cygwin installer with admin priviledges.

The base install should be enough, no need to all of the packages.

Re: Cygwin for PPM

I finally got Cygwin installed (with no help from my sys admins!) but when I go to run the PPM install file, I am getting a check environment window "shell command sh is needed but can not found"

What am I missing?  Am I missing something in my Path file?

Re: Cygwin for PPM

Cygwin should have installed a desktop icon on your server.

Be sure to right-click on the Cygwin icon and select Run as Administrator.

Start Cygwin.

enter "cd ToTheLocationOf-Install.sh"

enter "sh install.sh"

If that still does not work:

In your Cygin window enter "env"

There is a PATH environment variable.

sh.exe is typically located C:\cygwin\bin - but the cygwin install typically sets PATH correctly.
