Dynamic populating Dashboard

Hi,

We have an requirement of milestone to populate dynamically when the Project page is retrivied.

I mean when ever the we search the project and click on the request id , in project overview page they are predefined portlets are retrieving dynamically in the same way our custome portlet also need to retrieved based on the Request_id. Please let us know how to achieve this functionality with out using any filter condition.

Praveen.

Re: Dynamic populating Dashboard

Hi Praveen,

I'm not quite clear on what you're trying to do here.

The portlets shown on the project summary page are configured in the Project settings, and are inherited from the project type settings. If you want different portlets "by default" upon creating a project, they can only be as different as the number of project types you're using. You can always change the portlets after the project is created, but this is a manual operation and cannot be done "dynamically".

As for the portlet contents, you might have the "PROJECT_ID" passed as a dynamic content to use in your filters, but that requires filters, which is what you're requesting not to use below.

Thanks,

Etienne.

Re: Dynamic populating Dashboard

Hi,

I got the solution, it is possible to retrieve the data  dynamically in the portlet. In the Project type settings, we have an Project Overview layout option, up on selecting that it will display the portlets which are already configured. We have to click on edit option in the portlet which we required, then it will open the Portlet definition page, there we have an advance defaults option from that we have to change the Entity type from  null to Entity_Info. up on saving the project types, then automatically the data will generated dyamically based on the project id.
