Re: Error after Upgrade to PPM 9.12

Can you start PPM in command line?

Howto do it: launch Cygwin, go to the <PPM home directory>\bin and do 'sh kStart.sh'

look at the serverLog.txt filed under <PPM home directory>\server\<Kintana server name>\logs and find 'Ready !'.

Then you'll need to stop PPM (sh kStop.sh -now <-name admin>) and run sh kConfig.sh to reconfigure the PPM windows service.

Re: Error after Upgrade to PPM 9.12

Hi Jerome,

Do i have to wait till the kStart.sh to finish?

Because it's taking some time but i haven't receive a confirmation that

the service is already started. The last line was ". . . 47 more"

I also ckeck the serverLog file and found couple of "Ready !"s

So what exactly is this "Ready !" for?

Following your step with kStop.sh "Error: Connection refused: connect"

Thanks!

Re: Error after Upgrade to PPM 9.12

Ready means that the service is now started... also make sure you are using a supported java version and that you have the environments variables setup correctly.

Re: Error after Upgrade to PPM 9.12

Hi,

I am able to run the service now. What i did was, i deleted the "tmp" and "work" under the server/server_name

directory. Then run kUpdateHTML.sh and kStart.sh.

The PPM now runs in the browser, but the problem is that everytime i close the cygwin, the server goes down.

im still finding the best solution for this. 😛

Re: Error after Upgrade to PPM 9.12

This is the known problem with Cygwin.

You can use HP PPM windows service to start/stop PPM server.

Re: Error after Upgrade to PPM 9.12

Im just running my PPM server in a Virtual Machine.

Everytime i turn-off the machine the server also turns-off.

So everytime i start my VM, i must also start the server again via cygwin.

Re: Error after Upgrade to PPM 9.12

yes 🙂 or you can create a windows service with ksvc.exe install-all command under ppm/bin
