Error using ksc_create_project to create a projec into a request workflow

Jump to solution

Hello!

Im am trying to use ksc_create_project intoa  execution workflow step to create a project from a request, but i can´t find info on how to use this funcion

the call is:
ksc_create_project PROJECT_NAME=[REQ.VP.NOMBRE_PROYECTO] REQUEST_ID=[REQ.VP.NUMERO_SOLICITUD] REGION_ID=[REQ.VP.REGIONES] FINISH_DATE=[REQ.VP.FIN] START_DATE=[REQ.VP.INICIO] PROJECT_TYPE_NAME=[REQ.VP.TIPOPROYECTO] PROJECT_MANAGER=[REQ.VP.GESTOR]
The validations for the data are the same as the normal way to create a new project.

Do you know if there is any error in the call of the function?

The error log:

Running command: com.kintana.core.server.execution.CreateProject -projectName "Probando" -projectTypeName "Enterprise" -startDate "April 2011" -endDate "May 2011" -projectManager "Admin User" -region "AST" -requestID 30590 -userID 1 -userName "admin"
The following Command Step is not subject to timing out: com.kintana.core.server.execution.CreateProject
Configuring connection...
Ready to create project from Project Type: Enterprise
Se ha producido un error interno de complemento de HP. Si el problema continúa, póngase en contacto con el servicio de asistencia de HP Project and Portfolio Management. (KNTA-10023)

Server Node Name: HPPPM For input string: "AST"

Thank you very much

Thank you, the problem of the timeout is solved, it was what you said :smileyhappy:

The problem of the region is solved too. It is needed the REGION_ID from KNTA_REGIONS_NLS or the view KNTA_REGIONS_V in the BBDD.

The Project Manager needed is the USER_ID from KNTA_USERS or the view KNTA_USERS_V in the BBDD

The start and finish date, (i am trying diferent IDs of periods) but it fails. The proyect is created but the dates are null.

Sounds like it is asking you to configure a timeout on the workflow step that creates the project. Do you have that defined already?

Thank you
The timeout out was not added, but it does not work yet:
If i create a new proyect with Region = AST it works ropertly, but if i do it from the ksc_create_project it shows this error:
Running command: com.kintana.core.server.execution.CreateProject  -projectName "hola" -projectTypeName "Enterprise" -startDate "July 2011" -endDate "February 2011" -projectManager "Admin User" -region "AST" -requestID 30642 -userID 1 -userName "admin"

It fails always, with any value of region.. :S

Running command: com.kintana.core.server.execution.CreateProject -projectName "hola hola" -projectTypeName "Enterprise" -startDate "May 2011" -endDate "November 2011" -projectManager "Admin User" -region "Aragonesa de Servicios Telemáticos" -requestID 30663 -userID 1 -userName "admin"

I'm assuming you are calling 'ksc_create_project' as a step in another workflow. Is that correct? If so, did you open that workflow step (the one that calls the 'ksc_create_project' command, not the first step of the new project workflow) and define a timeout period?
