Failed to Generate PDF---- Exception in Converter. the document has no pages
We are currently using HP PPM 7.5 sp7 and have a set of Bar Chart portlets on the dashboard and when we try to export he dashboard data on to PDF format, we recieve the attached error.
if anyone have already faced this issue and have fixed it, please let us know.
This error is caused due to a communication error between the external web server and the Portable Document Format(PDF) engine. The URL seems to be translated to the internal URL of the application server, instead of the external one, so the page cannot be found by the engine. The parameter com.kintana.core.server.WEB_SERVER in server.conf also interferes with this, so please REMOVE IT. The WEB_SERVER parameter has been deprecated from PPM and will cause stability problems if present.
Please follow the below steps.
1) Add the following parameters to the server.conf if they are not already there.
Modify the values marked between square brackets [ ] with the relevant values:
com.kintana.core.server.dashboard.Non-SSL-Port=[SAME AS com.kintana.core.server.HTTP_PORT]
2) Remove/Comment the below parameter if present.
3) Stop the PPM Instance.
4) Navigate to <PPM_HOME>\bin\ from the command line and run "sh kUpdateHtml.sh"
5) Start the PPM instance.
NOTE: If this may not work, please change the parameter PDF-URL to one of the following, one at a time and run kUpdateHtml.sh script:
Please let me know if this helps.
We are currently usnig the HP PPM V 7.5 SP6 and the Parameters mentioned are not available on the Server.conf.
We are facing this issue with a Custom Portlet and this works with 3 to 4 bars, however if we are specifying thie portlet to display more than 4 months of data, we get this error when clicked on the PDF button on the Dashboard page.
Thanks for confirming that you do not have the WEB_SERVER parameter in server.conf file.
Please add the other parameters into the server.conf as suggested in the previous post and run the kUpdatehtml.sh. These parameters are compatible with PPM 7.5 version.
Please let me know how it goes.
