We had 2 instances of PPM running on the same server for years.  Our server was a HP Unix srver.  For the second instance we created a new filesystem and copied the PPM application files from the 1st instance to the filesystem of the 2nd instance..  We then updated the server.conf of the second instance to point at the correct filesystem.  Then started PPM and had no issues.
