Integrate PPM local security groups with Windows Active Directory Global groups?

Hi

We would like to be able to integrate PPM local security groups with Windows Active Directory Global groups.

Does HP PPM offer something in this area?, either to use AD-groups directly from ppm or to synchronize ppm local security groups with the ones in AD?

Regards,

Johan

Re: Integrate PPM local security groups with Windows Active Directory Global groups?

Hello Johan,

I found the following information. Hope this is helful,

We only  import users from Microsoft Active Directory directly to PPM is through LDAP configuration.

1) The procedure is quite simple, but we still recommend you to test it on a development environment first, before deploying it in production. The steps are explained in detail in the Open Interface guide and reference document, but as a summary you will be required to do the following:

a) Update your server.conf file with the LDAP URL of your Active directory server and the credentials of a user that has access to the entire directory branch or branches you need to import.
b) Make sure you use the correct mapping in the LDAPatributes.conf file in your PPM_HOME/conf folder is setup according to your AD own mappings
c) Make sure you stop your instance and run kUpdateHtml.sh to make this changes available
d) Start your instance and access the open interface reports: either the Organization Unit or User import report
e) Import your users via the report using the information you require (you can submit a test report)
f) Test the information imported.

2. There are only two options to verify:
a) Using a tool, for example, an existing built-in "import LDAP user report" which will connect to LDAP server and fetch users from LDAP server and insert into PPM knta_users table.
b) Manually create LDAP username information in PPM Workbench if we know the exact user information.

Also , please check the  Installation and Administration Guide  Chapter 6: Implementing User Authentication

and the Open Interface Guide and Reference Guide.

There is an Enhancement Request , but the status is Deferred
