Is it possible to automate the "add attachment" process from an object type?

I have a workflow that creates a manifest list of files being migrated.  I have it echoed out in the execution log.  However, I was wondering if its possible to attach it to the package line.   Either in the package line details using validation Attachment, or as an attachment on the references tab.  I know I can add the attachments manually via the attach button, but is it possible to use a special command or commands in an object type that would perform the steps automated?

An alternative approach would be...

to save the echoed file on any server directory (within root), then you can referenece it via "Package Line User Data" URL validation.

In the user data field store the path from backend.
