LINK field

Jump to solution

Does anyone know if it's possible to expand the LINK field type. It only allows for 200 characters and that falls far short of what we need.

In work bench, when defining field with the LINK validation, it has under "storage", the option to go up to 4000.

When you change it to 4000 and click apply, it behaves as if the change is accepted. Only when you go back into the request type header you find that it's changed back to 200.

What can be done?

Re: LINK field

Found a Fix in the 9.14 Release Notes.

So can update the system to the latest Service Pack and Build, and then should be able to have 4000 characters for a Link Field.

Re: LINK field

Hi,

I think you can change the storage for the URL field to a length of 4000 if you change the parameter to have a Col of 41 or higher (the larger length fields are used for those higher Col numbers).
