ORA-12154 during upgrade from 9.42.002 to 9.50

Jump to solution

Hello all,

Recently we tried to upgrade PPM from 9.42.002 to 9.50 and installation has failed while running PostUpgrade script RMLSetupInITGSchema.sql with following error:

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
ORA-06512: at line 149

DBA has checked tnsnames.ora, we tried several different connect identifier formats, but without any success. Connection to DB was working, some of the sql scripts ran successfully...so it's strange that this one particular script is failing.

Any help will be appreciated.

JK

Hello

Thanks for reply. Issue was eventually identified by DBA, there was issue with view KNTA_SCHEMA.TMPC_PROJECTS_VW.

At the end of SQL code of this view was link to non-existing DB link. So we dropped the whole view :

drop view KNTA_SCHEMA.TMPC_PROJECTS_VW

After that upgrade was working.

Best regards

JK

Hello JK,

The script "RMLSetupInITGSchema.sql" grants "select" privilege to all Kintana base schema tables, views, and adds synonyms to the Meta Layer Schema on Install/Upgrade.

Please make sure ITG user has the necessary privileges to provide the above grants. As a simple test grab the above script and execute it manually and see if its successful ?

Also you can try to perform "tnsping <service_name>" on application server cmd to see that you are indeed able to resolve the tnsnames.

Let me know if this helps and need any further help.
