PPM 9.14 Request Rules

PPM wont trigger a UI rule on a field that is calculated by a sql rule. Is there anyway to get a required field rule based on the results in another field to trigger if that field is auto calculated by a rule?

Example:

Field A is populated by a rule that looks at the value of Field B (also autocalculated by sum totals of Field C-E).

Field F  and Field G are required if Field A has specific results, therefore I have multiple UI rules set to trigger based on results.

These required or not required rules only trigger if the field A is manually selected, not when it is auto populated by a rule.

Re: PPM 9.14 Request Rules

Hi,

There is a defect for this problem,

QCCR1L40145 Rule 2 is unable to use the latest value calculated by rule 1 when field A triggers both rule1 and rule 2.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Best regards,
Randall

Re: PPM 9.14 Request Rules

A workaround is to force the user to do this in two steps. That would be: choose a value in a first field, do needed calculations via rules and as well open a new field using ui rule that are required, when the user populate that new field the final calculation is being done using another set of ui rules. This might work in some scenarios
