PPM Linux installation.. Server started but link is not accessible

Jump to solution

Hi,

we installed PPM on linux for first time. The server installed and started successfully. However when I access the base URL from browser, It is not showing any page. no logs are even updated.

do we have to install anything like IIS as we do on Windows?

Are we missing anything?

Hi,

Can you try

run kJSPCompiler.sh again

run kRuncacheManager.sh A

Try again.

If not help i think it should be something with firewall.

Or you can try install GUI for linux server or start linux server in GUI mode and try to access ppm inside.

Hello,

I hope you are doing fine,

Well, there is not necessary to install anything else.

The issue can be produced by multiple reasons.

- First at all we need to check the status kStatus.sh and see if the PPM is Up & Running

- You can test changing the BASE URL and set it with the IP Address and the Port. For example "10.10.15.98:9222"

- Also please check if you are using an External Web Service, Load Balancer, etc.

- Check the network connection is fine.

As you can see there is a lot of reasons, so if you already checked all these questions, I recommend you open a new ticket with Support Team.

I hope this information helps.

Greetings!

Re: PPM Linux installation.. Server started but link is not accessible

thanks for the suggestions.

I was really hoping point 2 you mentioned will work since while installing we had to change the DB connection to include IP.

I changed the Server_NAME to IP address. Changed Base URL to IP address and port number. but still the same issue.

kStatus shows server is running

no external LB

connections are good. can ping server.

any other pointers?

HP Support is really time consuming and time wasting.. already have a ticket open

Hi Shirish,

Is this stand alone or cluster instance?

Please show us the base_url you set it server.conf file. Give us a screenshot when you tried to access ppm.

Please check if the port in base_url not occupied by another process, are you sure that you are not using any external web server?

Give me the case id you have raised with HP, I can take a look on that.

Hi,

Also, did you try clear the cache and try again? Try with another browser? Another computer?

When you start the service, did you see the "Ready" message in serverlog.txt file?

Hi Shirish,

Are you able to access PPM in Linux machine? I mean go to linux server and try to access ppm if you have GUI.

Run

ifconfig

in command line and give us the outcome

Check if the Linux firewall is enable with

selinuxenabled && echo enabled || echo disabled

cat /etc/sysconfig/selinux

Also, please kill all PPM java process. Try to start PPM again and give us new serverlog.txt file, no need ksupport file.

No GUI. do we have any other alternative to check that?

Firewall status says Disabled

killed java, deleted serrver log, work, temp.

Restarted PPM.  kStatus Shows Running!

Hi Shirish,

I think the PPM started successfully, it seem there is some firewall or policy at your linux server, your latop or your network prevent you to access ppm webpage.

The only way to isolate the issue is access ppm webpage inside linux server but you dont have GUI so I have no idea at this moment.
