PPM Support Tip: ALM 11.50 and 11.52 fix for enabling a Project

A new KCS article was published: KM00630244

When receiving an error enabling a Project in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) 11.50 or
11.52, use add_requirement_script.txt and add_defect_script.txt to manually edit scripts

With ALM versions 11.50 and 11.52 only, the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Center-ALM Integration Tool is not stable.

An Error may happen when enabling a Project using the tool.

Defect QCCR1L52353

As a workaround, do not use the PPM Center-ALM Integration Tool at all. Instead, do the following:

To enable the hidden fields in HP ALM for the integration and to deploy the workflow scripts in
HP ALM,
a. Add scripts to perform the operation on HP ALM server side.
i. Log on to HP ALM as administrator.
ii. From the menu bar, click Tools > Customize > Workflow > Script Edit.
The Script Editor opens.
iii. From the navigation pane, select Requirement module script, then go to the last
script of this category, copy and append the content of add_requirement_script.txt
to the end of the script in the editing pane.
iv. Click Save.
The new script is added to the Requirement module script.
v. From the navigation pane, select Defect module script, then go to the last script of
this category, copy and append the content of add_defect_script.txt to the end of
the scrip in the editing pane.
vi. Click Save.
The new script is added to the Defect module script.
vii. Exit and log off.

b. Run the SQL scripts provided by HP Software Support manually:
i. For instructions on how to enable PPM* fields in HP ALM project, go to KM1352699.
ii. For instructions on how to activate workflow script in HP ALM project, go to KM1352700.
