PPM Support Tip: Advanced Defaults for Portlets: ENTITY_INFO and USER_INFO options

When setting up Advanced Defaults for Portlets, description of the ENTITY_INFO and USER_INFO options

Portlet issue – Create Portlets and Modules Guide missing the descriptions

A new KCS article was published: KM00783946.

To see the options:
1. Log in as admin
2. Open -> Administration -> Modules -> Create Module (or Configure module)
3. Give new Module a name
4. Click on “New Page”
5. Add a Portlet (“Request List” for example)
    a)    Configure the Portlet (selected “PFM-Proposal”,
    b)    Clicked “Advanced Filter” with no configuration of filters.
    c)    Clicked “Advanced Defaults”
6. Pop-up window appears with all the Fields on the Request Type
7. Every Field has same options in drop down list:
    Entity_Info
    None (default)
    User_Info

If setting an Advanced Default value to “USER_INFO”, the ID of User currently logged in will be automatically populated in that preference as a default value. It is the same as using [SYS.USER_ID] in the Datasource Definition, except that here this is only the default value, and it can still be changed by configuring the Portlet (whereas if set at the Datasource level, it is hard coded).

If setting “ENTITY_INFO”, the Portlet will be populated with the Project ID if and only if the Portlet is displayed on a Project Summary page.
