PPM Support Tip: Issue in FROM clause of Data Sources Introduced in 9.30

Knowledge Article KM01412356

When having a query like the following when there is no space or whitespace after the FROM, it results in the below error message in the 9.30 version:

ERROR JSESSIONID=B26BD8DD206D25C5AEDBF30A0367E9B5.ppmdev3,USERNAME=XXXXXXXXX (a354282):ajp-bio-18001-exec-138:(BuilderPortletError_jsp.java:109):2015/01/27-07:14:46.680 EST: java.lang.RuntimeException: invalid SQL

How to Reproduce:

1.  Create a new data source.
     FROM should be:
FROM(select 'a' as col from dual)

note one column, called col as the fields on the data source.

2.  Create new portlet definition with one column displayed, col.
     Add portlet to dashboard.

3.  To fix, simply add a space or carriage return after the from, so it looks like:
FROM (select 'a' as col from dual)

This issue has been identified as a defect caused by pagination function.

As workaround, please do the following:

1. Not using pagination.

2. Add space after 'FROM' key word.
