(PPM) Support Tip: Key information to add in a Support case when having Web Services issues

 

1-Lets enable a higher logging level for Web services by adding (or modifying) the following setting,


1.1 add this line at the bottom of logging.conf under PPM_HOME/conf

com.kintana.core.logging.PRODUCT_FUNCTION_LOGGING_LEVEL=com.mercury.itg.ws, DEBUG

1.2 In addition to these, the SYSTEM_THRESHOLD setting in logging.conf should also be set to DEBUG.

1.3 Reproduce the issue and retrieve the serverLog.txt file,

1.4 Once you finished, you can disabled the debug by setting SYSTEM_THRESHOLD back to ERROR.


2-Are you using the out of the box web service code or a customized version? If custom, can you test with the out of the box web service mentioned in the Web services guide.


3-please send us a snippet of the API call code used to call the web service, so we can see the values that are being passed.

4-Please install a Web Service Debug tool such as SOAPUI or SoapSonar,  and test the Web service call connecting to PPM.

5-Add any screenshots showing the behavior in the GUI.
