PPM Support Tip: Project Settings in a combination of tables

When looking for Project Settings in the database, a combination of tables must be used.

A client was trying to find the Project Settings for Projects in the schema.

To find the settings for Projects, need the combination of the follow tables:

PM_PROJECTS: Stores the PPM project entity information.
PM_PROJECT_TYPES: Stores project type and project setting information.
ITG_SETTINGS_CONTAINERS: Table used to store PPM settings containers. This table identifies hierarchy of the containers.
ITG_SETTINGS_ATTRIBUTES: This table holds the settings information of various entities. Project Type, Programs.

For example, the follow query will help to find the Project Settings for a specific Project:

select * from itg_settings_attributes
WHERE settings_attribute_id IN (
SELECT sa.settings_attribute_id
FROM pm_projects p,
pm_project_types pt,
itg_settings_containers sc,
itg_settings_cont_attrs ca,
itg_settings_attributes sa
WHERE p.project_id = --- provide the project id in question
AND p.project_type_id = pt.project_type_id
AND pt.pt_settings_key = sc.settings_container_id
AND sc.settings_container_id = ca.settings_container_id
AND ca.settings_attribute_id = sa.settings_attribute_id)
order by name;

The columns to check for the Project Settings are “Name” and “Value”
