PPM Support Tip: When doing Environment "Check" for SSH2/SCP2, set "source" in the .profile

A new KCS article was published: KM00576532

When doing Environment "Check" with SSH/SCP2 and it hangs, make sure "source" command is in the .profile

Client had configured Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) using the "Configuring Private Key Authentication with Secure Shell" section of the Installation and Administration Guide.

When doing an Environment "Check" it hung when testing the SSH connection.

The ./profile as it did not have the following entry:
source ~/.bashrc

They commented everything else and simply added above line and this resolved the issue.
Environment "Check" was successfully able to connect with SSH2 and Secure Copy2 protocol.

The source command is built into the shell.
It ensures that changes to the environment made in .bash affect the current shell.
Bash shell is needed to execute the shell script from PPM.
