PPM Support Tip: When needing to troubleshoot Oracle performance, tips for using the tool PerfSpy

A new KCS article was created: KM00589828

Technically, PerfSpy is a tool used by developers, though when supporting applications that use Oracle, it can be used as an alternative to the TKPROF as an Oracle performance diagnostic tool.

Read the Tutorial:
PerfSpy 1 -- runtime logging and performance monitoring using AspectJ

And the following are more useful articles for the tool:
trca: TKPROF on steroids
trca gotchas -- Directory alias does not exist in DBA_DIRECTORIES
trca gotchas – explain plan != execution plan

NOTE: This is not an HP tool. HP does not distribute or support third party tools. Use tool at own risk.
