A new KCS article was published: KM00483921

When SERVER_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=4096 on HP-UX using JDK 1.7, 64-bit flag not recognized.

Error seen in log file when starting up...
$ more debug_serverLog_ppm_20130521_0419.txt
Invalid initial heap size: -Xms4096m
The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size.
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

Defect "QCCR1L51515 HPUX JDK 1.7 does not recognize the 64-bit flag and fails if SERVER_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=4096m"
Defect "QCCR1L52261 In HPUX JDK1.7 64bit PPM can't start with option 'Xmpas'"

Workaround:
1. Open kStart.sh.
2. Find statement SYSTEM_PROPS="-DNAME=${SERVER_ID}" (Line 130)
3. Add  SYSTEM_PROPS="$SYSTEM_PROPS -d64" below it.
4. Save  kStart.sh.
5. Remove the script PPM_HOME/bin/os/HP-UX.sh
Can rename it or move it to another folder.
6. Start Project and Portfolio Management (PPM).
