PPM Support for Oracle DBs

Jump to solution

Hello,

Is there any information that can be shared with PPM supporting Oracle 11.2.0.4 or 12c database versions?

Thanks.

Hi ScQuinn,

According to the compatibility matrix for PPM 9.22, the following Oracle database versions are supported on all PPM Server platforms:

Oracle 11.2.0.2, Standard and Enterprise Edition (RAC and Non-RAC)
Oracle 11.2.0.3, Standard and Enterprise Edition (RAC and Non-RAC)

Right now, i don't have any information  about PPM supporting Oracle 11.2.0.4 or 12c database versions, may be it will in next release. Its better to rasie a Enhancement Request, they will give you the exact update.

I've attached the guide for 9.22 "hp_man_PPM9.22_SysReqs_CompatMatrix_pdf" for you.

Hope this help.

Thanks for the information.

We are on 11.2.0.3 and our DBAs were curious as to the plan for 11.2.0.4 and 12c since 0.3 will be end of support in the next year. They like to move forward. 🙂

Thanks for the tip on the ER.

I did find an existing ER for 11.2.0.4 - QCCR1L53217

This works for me, except that it is deferred. 😞

Thanks!

Hi Scott,

Deferred means that we'll consider it for future versions of PPM, not that we won't implement it.

As far as I know, we have no plan as of today to support 11.2.0.4 on 9.22.X, but we are seriously considering supporting it in next PPM version.

Oracle 12c support will likely not make it into next PPM version, but we are also looking at it and started technical investigation around it.

Of course, that is in no way a commitment nor an official roadmap, but we are fully aware that 11.2.0.3 will go out of support soon, and be sure that we wouldn't want to let PPM users with the only choice of running on an Oracle version that's out of support  🙂

Cheers,
Etienne.

Thanks Etienne.

I was confident that you would support the newer Oracle versions in a later PPM version. because of that reason.

I appreciate the follow-up!
